Athlete spotlight

This week’s athlete in the spotlight is Fernando E. This week, Fernando went unbroken on his toes to bar in Tuesday’s workout. If you did that WOD, you will agree that is pretty impressive. Would you be even more impressed if you learned that just a few short months ago Fernando could not do toes to bar? Fernando has consistently scaled to our Coaches’ suggestion of straight leg lifts instead of trying to get his toes to the bar by any means necessary (flailing, kicking, etc.). This has meant that each time we do T2B in a WOD, he showed up, did the work and each week his toes reached a little higher.  This week, he managed to do 5 sets of 12 unbroken getting his toes all the way to the bar- with great form. This scaling option improved his strength and mobility in just a few months. This is a great example of how scaling and focusing on form before “RX-ing” a movement can pay off big time in the long run. Great work Fernando.
