Chad Vaughn in slow motion on a 315 pound clean and jerk. Watch it then watch it again. Do your best to look like this today!
The goal of finding your 1 RM C&J is to have a good idea of how much weight you can get from the ground to over your head. This 15 min should feel like a workout. If you hit your 1 RM early then scale back and work technique.
The question that usually comes up is “should this be a squat clean or a power clean?” Technically speaking it should be a squat clean, for sure! But we realize the squat clean is a hard skill to master, some people might actually be able to power clean more than they can squat clean. If that is the case then stick with the power clean. Remember we want the heaviest load you can pick up and put over your head.
