The CrossFit Open – CFH Style!

The last couple of weeks we have been really pushing sign ups for the CrossFit Open. The Open is the first stage of the CrossFit Games season and the largest community event of the year. Every year, hundreds of thousands of athletes come together to compete in the worldwide, online competition.

The Open runs from February 23rd to March 27th this year. CFH will be hosting the Open workouts “Friday Night Lights” style each Friday during the Open. We will be assigning intramural “Teams” to each member who signs up for the Open as a part of team CFH. Teams will be awarded points for top performances, attendance on Friday nights, team spirit, and other fun challenges we come up with along the way! Even if you can’t make it on Friday nights, you can still complete the workout in class on Friday, or at any point over the weekend and be a part of a team. When you register yourself as an athlete in the Open, make sure to select CrossFit Federal Hill as your affiliate!

In Teams of 2…
500 M Row
Farmers Carry (one end of the gym to the other)
30 Second High Plank
15 KB Swings
12 Rounds (6 Rounds per partner)
Fitness: 35/26
RX: 53/35
RX+: 70/53
Coaching tip: 1 Partner is on the rower while the other is completing the second piece.  When the rower is done, switch spots.  In total you complete 5 rounds of each part of the workout.  So the rower should read 5,000 cals when finished.
