2016 Strength Class Announcement
Due to the success of CFH’s inaugural strength class, in early 2016 we’ll be offering a second round that’s guaranteed to be even better than the first! Details to follow, but first let’s let the numbers from last class do the talking…
The CrossFit Total = Max effort squat, press and deadlift combined.
Average CF Total before three months of hard work: 618 lbs.
Average CF Total after three months of hard work: 753 lbs.
Biggest single gain after three months: 235 lbs. (not typical, but it can be done!)
Number of people who hit a CF Total PR: 14 (Pretty much everyone)
Times I’ve been asked, “When is the next class?”: 1,052
Times I’ve given a satisfying answer: 0….until now.
Members will meet twice a week for three months. Time and Day of week will be determined at the INFO SESSION. The cost is $79 per month, for three months. Non- CFH members the cost is $179 per month.
What is the class about?
Instead of writing out a detailed blog post, a strength training seminar and information session will be held on Saturday, January 9th 2016. We’ll take out the barbells, get some work in and talk about the content of class.
I have three goals for the class:
Getting stronger. I’m not talking about becoming the strongest person on your block. I look at building strength as an investment – something that will continue to pay dividends for life. This class has the long-term in mind.
Hitting your goals. While strength training is the focus, there will also be plenty of time to work on other things you’d like to improve on. This is a three-month commitment to focus on whatever you want, under the guidance of a coach (me!)
Education. Diet, programming, equipment and breathing – we will cover the how and the why for what we do both in and out of the gym.
Interested even a little bit and/or have questions? Come to the gym on Saturday, January 9th at Noon prepared to work out and learn a bit. Can’t make it? That’s ok, too. Email me: jhpickering@gmail.com and I’ll send you the details.
