The CFH #GivingBackProject
We are going to start something new and fun. It is called the Giving Back Project. Once a month, CFH is going to randomly choose two members and give them a gift- it could be anything from a t-shirt to a gift card to a local business. Nothing fancy, just a small gift as a thank for being a member. Whoever CFH chooses will not just receive one, but two of the same gift. They will get to keep one, and the second they will be asked to give to a random member of CFH who they have never met or talked to before. If you know everyone in the class you normally attend, this may require you to attend another class time and meet someone new. When you give away your second gift, have the coach or someone else take a picture and post it to social media tagging CrossFit Federal Hill and the #GivingBackProject. This is meant to accomplish a few things- we want to pay it forward with generosity, and it will encourage members to reach out and meet new people. It is easy to retreat to your “comfort zone” of people within the gym – the people you always talk to and lift with. We want to support new friendships and bonds. Within the next week, we will be choosing our first two participants – they will not be announced, and will remain anonymous until their social media reveal- stay tuned!
Nutrition Tip Wednesday!
Whatever happened to JERF? Where have the cavemen gone? These are questions on the Nutrition blog this week. *Warning* this post is a little soap-box-y, but still a good read!
