CFH Core Values – Final Week!

Over the past several weeks your coaches have written about all of the Core Values of CrossFit Federal Hill, everything from Compassion to Integrity and why they are so important to us here. This last one is written by Coach Ryan about Fun… because let’s face it- if you’re not having fun while doing it, you’re doing it all wrong!

Fun – we pride ourselves on cultivating an environment that is fun, supportive, and encouraging. 

It’s not often that you catch your conventional gym friends telling stories about how

much fun they had at the gym. Stuff like, “man, that hour on the elliptical was off the

chain,” or maybe, “it was so funny when you did all 30 of those bicep curls,” that just

doesn’t happen. Fortunately for us, we’ve been lucky enough to find a place where

fitness and fun have crossed paths. At CFH we are able to combine Crossfit’s

constantly varied WODs with an extremely dedicated and supportive group of

athletes to create a fun fitness experience for everyone.

Constantly varied, an important part of Crossfit’s definition, keeps athletes

progressing in their journey. Whether it’s that movement that you feel like you just

can’t get right (i.e. double unders, muscle ups, really anything), we will give you

coaching that will help you get to it. If it’s the movement you love to do because you

know you will PR your times whenever it comes up, that’s developing your fitness.

Progress is what makes what we do at CFH so fun! There’s nothing better than

celebrating a new PR on a lift you thought unachievable or finally doing a movement

that you’ve been working your tail off for. Celebrate these rewards, no matter how

small or big they may seem at the time. Write down your accomplishments on the

PR board so we can have fun with you!

Even more fun is celebrating these lifts and completing these never-ending WODs

with the extremely dedicated and supportive group that was built around it all.

People join CFH for all different reasons; some just want to lose weight, others strive

to become better movers, or there are the fire breathers that want to be the fittest in

the world. Regardless of the reason, coming together with all different skill levels

and throwing down on a workout, it doesn’t get more fun than that! The community

that has come together at CFH makes every grueling WOD a little less painful

because you know that every coach and every athlete will be there to help you push

through those last couple reps, even if you don’t think you can make it. Keep that up

and keep having fun with our team!

Fun has been an important core value for CFH because its what motivates us to keep

doing what we are doing here. All the games, exciting WODs, and events we hold at

the gym are designed to keep things fun and to continue developing our Crossfit

Federal Hill community. Coming to the gym is the best part of my day, hands down,

and I hope to continue having fun with all of you there!

**Morning Crew and DEMAND TRAINING Crew.  On Tuesday and Thursday for the next 6 weeks we will be closing off the back gym for Coach Marissa’s Olympic Lifting Course.  If you want to do extra work please go in the small auxiliary gym in.  Thanks Team!
