Athlete Spotlight!

This week Nicol R. got her first strict pull ups! She did not only one, but 6 strict pull ups during Tuesday’s Skill WOD. Nicol is a regular face of the 8:30am Tuesday/Thursday crew. Each and every time there are pull ups in the WOD, Nicol asks how she should scale/ modify them. This had led her to using a variety of different progressions from seated barbell pull ups, to ring rows, to negatives, to jumping pull ups to sometimes (but not often) using a band. Her willingness to try different and challenging progressions has paid off and helped her to build strength. Pull ups are for everyone, regardless of if you’ve never done them before or don’t think you can do one. Instead of always resorting to the same band, ask your coaches what you can do to make you stronger and we will help!
