CrossFit Myths….Busted
CrossFitters are all meatheads, who groan, grunt, sweat and yell. We are a cult. Members only bitches! If you step into a CrossFit you will get big and bulky by just watching. CrossFit is expensive because we are arrogant SOB’s. Yeah look at my six pack! We eat like caveman, its called paleo, duh. We say WOD because we can and yeah you might get injured because we do hard shit.

If there is a CrossFitter out there that would say something like that they would probably be kicked out of their gym. People have pre-concived notions about CrossFit and we need to do something about it.
Myth #1- CrossFit is Intimidating.
The unknown is always intimidating. For some it is worse than others, but the hardest part is taking that first step. Walking into a gym where no one knows your name is hard, but unlike all other gyms I guarantee 5 people will welcome you with open arms at a CrossFit. Coaches are always happy to see new faces and unlike traditional gym settings, at CrossFit people actually talk to each other. Saddle up Sally if intimidation is your excuse punch it in the face.
Myth #2- CrossFit = BIG and BULKY.
This one is mostly for the ladies because no guy in the history of the universe would ever not want to big and bulky, we will give jockeys a pass, but that is it. To get right to the point the answer is NO it will not. We lift weights, run, jump, climb then lift more weights. The running, jumping and climbing prevents your body from putting on a tremendous amount of size. You can’t gain mass unless you stuff your face and I doubt (unless that is your goal) you will be stuffing your face. Trust me I have worked with females that spend their day doing three CrossFit workouts five times a week and they do not bulk up!
Myth #3- CrossFit is expensive
Ok sometimes it is…I realize certain gyms are charging an outrageous amount (over $300 a month) but the average price is around $200. Let’s break it down. If you go to CrossFit 5 days a week and pay $10 for each class that adds up to $200. Which is a deal for personal attention, nutrition information and a wealth of health and fitness knowdlege every time you step into your gym. Oh and did I mention all of your workouts are programmed for you. Wait, you need a modification? That is all taken care of by your coaches who know your name, where you work and exactly what you need to do to break through that wall that you can not seem to climb over.
