Margaux Alvarez competed in the first competition I held at my first gym in San Diego. She has worked hard ever since and actually qualified for the 2013 CrossFit Games this year. There is a great video on here mental game and preparation strategy for her workouts. Obviously some members are just here for the fitness we do not expect everyone to be a competitor, but we expect you to have the drive to get better, be stronger and work harder. I am sure there is something for everyone to take away from this video. Margaux’s mantra- Focus, Drive, Execution.
A programming note( I wanted to put this up earlier, but we had a ton going on the blog so I decided to wait):
For this strength cycle we will attack the front squat and the push press. I will toss in some oly lifts because it is important to stay explosive and work on technique. We will be performing these lifts (FS and PP) on Mon, Wed, and sometimes Friday. Monday and Wednesday will be the crucial days in the cycle. Depending on how the programming shakes out for the week we might attack a few things on Friday.
