Mobility tonight at 6:30 pm- Anyone’s back feeling the effects of the week so far? Many of us tend to think “if my back is sore, I’m going to just roll it out on this foam roller.” It definitely seems like the right thing to do…but in reality, it may be tightness of the hips, especially the flexors. The psoas is a muscle that crosses the hip that actually attaches to your low back. If these muscles are in spasm they can pull the pelvis into an anterior (forward) pelvic tilt, causing increased stress on the low back. This week we will work on loosening up those hip flexors, as well as some other lower body mashing/flexibility. Come get loose!
Below is a picture of my sister, most people do not know that my sister comes to CFH, she likes to keep a low profile. She comes into the 4:30, does her thing and heads out. It took about a year for her to actually come in and try CrossFit. The pictures below show her progress over the past year. She came in and could hardly air squat and absolutely hated the barbell. She can now squat over 100 pounds, knows what a clean and jerk is and got her first double under last week. I could not be more stoked for her results and progress! Great work Chelsea!
